I enjoyed the lesson on the play Oedipus. Greek theater has always been interesting to me. I loved the idea of having the community join together to enjoy a play. The way Greek theater was set up and respected is fascinating and I wish that was how it was today. Learning about the background of this play helped a lot and made me connect to the play more. I originally read Oedipus in high school and found it interesting how it makes you think about free will. The language can be difficult but in English 102 it was explained so well and simple. Going through this play for a second time was a benefit for me, I picked up details with the help of professor Candia that I hadn't before that made the image of this play more vivid. The plot twist in Oedipus is so suspenseful because you know what will happen and the main character is unaware. This play made me want to keep reading to find out what Oedipus's reaction was when he found out he had married his mother and in fact killed his father.
